Each Thanksgiving we have an opportunity to help with the CCHASM Thanksgiving Food Basket Program. In cooperation with Chesterfield Social Services, CCHASM will be providing baskets to 600 families. At this time of year when we reflect on the many things for which we are thankful, this is a wonderful way for families, youth groups, Sunday School classes, circles, etc. to become involved. There are two basic ways to help:
 
1. Make a monetary contribution to CCHASM and designate "Thanksgkving" on the check. Mail to CCHASM, P.O. Box 341, Chester, VA 23831, by mid November.
2. Collect the food necessary to put together a complete basket and put it in a double paper grocer bag. Contents:
• Super market gift certificate for $15.00 to cover cost of turkey, dozen eggs, gallon of milk,
• 1 - 40 oz. Can yams or sweet potatoes
• 1 - 13 oz. Box mashed potatoes,
• 1 - 16 ox. Can cranberry sauce,
• 1 - 15 oz. Can corn
• 2 - 16 os. Pkgs. Stuffing mic,
• 1 - Can gravy
• 2 - 15 oz. Cans green vegetable,
• 1 - dessert item (including all items needed to prepare).

 
If you are providing the food to prepare a basket, please do not buy the perishable items, but include the gift certificate from a grocery store. Ukrops will give a 10% discount if you are purchasing for a church.
The Outreach Committee will make arrangements to deliver all food that is purchased for the baskets. Please contact Sue Casey if you are interested in preparing a basket. These items should be taken to the church library on the Sunday before Thanksgiving or make other arrangements with Sue Casey. Mark "CCHASM" on the outside of your bag and include your name.
